Pasta e Fagioli Soup Mix
Pasta e Fagioli, means "pasta and beans", and is a classic Italian soup. It is often called pasta fazool in the US, from its Neapolitan name, pasta e fasule. Typically Pasta e Fagioli contains beans (cranberry or Borlotti), small pasta (we use ditalini), tomatoes, garlic, carrots, herbs and spices and meat - sometimes sausage sometimes beef. There's no single recipe for Pasta e Fagioli, each region of Italy or family has their own way of making the soup.
The pasta is cooked in the same water the beans cooked in so the starch will thicken the broth.
Our Pasta e Fagioli is vegan as is so you can use a meat substitute to keep it vegan or vegetarian.
